A criminal investigation has been launched into Your Party’s founding over alleged unathorised access to a political party’s database.
The left-wing political party, established last year, has been co-led by Zarah Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn – neither of whom have been accused of wrongdoing.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they had arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of an offence under the 1990 Computer Misuse Act, Politico revealed.
He was released pending further enquiries and has not been charged, while another woman was also interviewed by police in relation to the same case.
The police service did not name a specific political party in its official statement.
But three insider sources revealed to Politico that the probe related to an extended dispute linked to the founding of Your Party.
There have been no charges and neither individual related to the investigation are MPs.
Mr Corbyn and Ms Sultana, both of whom are sitting MPs, have not been accused of wrongdoing.
