Claudia Winkleman’s response to Wednesday night’s Celebrity Traitors result prompted a social media buzz as fans were left distracted after the host seemingly “broke character”.

The episode finally saw the first Traitor being banished as the Faithfuls at last decided to vote off Jonathan Ross at the Roundtable.

The highly-anticipated reveal saw Mr Ross making a characteristically memorable speech, one which even led to Ms Winkleman breaking her poker face in the dramatic moment.

After being eliminated, Mr Ross walked to the infamous spot where former banished players have stood to unearth the truth.

Taking the opportunity to worry the Faithfuls one last time, he remarked: “I have got no idea what everyone’s doing wrong.”

As concern gripped the players around the table, he continued: “I cannot believe you’ve done it again!

“I cannot believe that I’m standing here for no good reason, so I don’t want to be rude, but you’re idiots.

“But I’m not judging because it’s fiendish, so I’m not blaming the players, I’m blaming the game.”

As former rugby star Joe Marler shook his head and silently worded “no,” the comedian gave the final blow.

“I am now and I have been all the game, completely faithful…” he shared before a dramatic pause as he concluded: “To the Traitors!”

As the relieved contestants cheered, Ms Winkleman could be seen in the background covering her mouth in what seemed like an attempt not to laugh.

Eagle-eyed viewers noted the moment and conversed about being sidetracked by the presenter’s candid reaction.

One penned on X: “My favourite part of Jonathan’s reveal is Claudia breaking character in the back #CelebrityTraitors.”

“I think even Claudia was thrilled that a traitor had been caught #CelebrityTraitors,” a second pointed out.

“Claudia struggling to hide her glee with that little smirk #TheTraitors #CelebrityTraitors,” another echoed.

Someone else wrote: “Claudia in the background,” while another shared: “Claudia absolutely wetting herself.”

The remaining Traitors are now Alan Carr and Cat Burns

“If they ever did out takes, I’d love more of Claudia! She is so fabulous,” another enthused.

Someone else requested: “I very badly want to see a cutaway of Claudia’s face when someone said something very surprising near the end of tonight’s episode of #CelebrityTraitors.” (sic)

The episode ended on an almighty cliffhanger, as Alan Carr and Cat Burns were tasked with murdering another member of the Faithful in plain sight.

The pair remain the only surviving Traitors, and the unlucky Faithful will be revealed in Thursday’s penultimate episode of the series.
