Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper received a loud ovation from the Fenway faithful on Wednesday night before delivering the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Red Sox-Toronto Blue Jays game.
With injured Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas crouched behind home plate, the righty delivered a one-hopper that landed well outside the strike zone.
On the positive side, Cooper was absolutely overwhelmed with the crowd response in Boston, where she spent her college days. Throngs of her loyal listeners were seen lining the block around Fenway in Kenmore.
To mark the occasion, Fenway offered fans a Daddy Margarita and a vodka-lemonade drink called Cooper’s Curveball. But Wednesday’s contest against the Toronto Blue Jays was suspended due to severe weather conditions in the Boston area.
The 29-year-old, who dated several professional athletes while playing soccer at Boston University, revealed she was asked to throw the first pitch at a Red Sox game last week.

‘All of my ex-boyfriends, I’m speaking directly to you,’ Cooper said in an Instagram post.
‘The Red Sox have asked me, not you, to throw the first pitch at Fenway Park,’ she went on.
‘Let’s take tequila shots, lets f***ing go Boston.’
She addressed the news on a recent podcast episode, in which she also detailed her whirlwind 2014 romance with an unnamed, high-profile baseball player.
Cooper was a sophomore in college when she dated the pro athlete, affectionately dubbed ‘Red Sox Man,’ who was 13 years her senior.
The pair hit it off at a bar after his team won the World Series, and they began a casual fling that left Cooper wondering whether the ‘veteran’ baseball player even liked her.
She recalled an incident in which he lied to her about having an early night at home, before running into him at a nightclub with her friends.

‘Sadly Red Sox Man wasn’t in the mood to hit the clubs with Al’ and her friends after one of his games,’ Cooper recalled on Wednesday’s episode of her podcast.
‘So my friends and I have made plans of our own, and decided to go to this club. Not long after arriving, none other than Red Sox Man walks through the door.
‘[Red Sox Man] had told me ‘oh babe like I’m not really in the mood like I think I’m going to call it an early night like I’m just gonna order in.”’
Cooper noted that her ex was with his ‘his teammates and a bunch of girls’ which made her ‘immediately want to throw up.’
‘I’m like trying to make eye contact with him so he can see me because I’m convinced he’s definitely going to invite me over,’ she went on, before revealing he ‘clearly wanted nothing to do’ with her.
Her solution to his lack of interest was to follow him into the men’s bathroom.
‘If I were thinking rationally I would have realized the club is probably not the best place to have a conversation with someone,’ Cooper said.
‘[But] I am a monster at this point … so I blacked out and I focus on my mission. I proceed to follow this man into the public men’s bathroom of the club, I just walk directly in.
‘He’s in one of the stalls and before he has a chance to lock the stall I shove the door open and I’m like ‘we need to talk.’ He whips around with his d*** in his hand and he’s fully f***ing mortified.’
The pair didn’t go home together, however, as she woke up to a text from the player the next morning, leading Cooper to the conclusion that ‘men love crazy’ women.
Time Magazine called Cooper ‘arguably the most successful woman in podcasting’ in 2021
She first opened up about her relationship with the athlete on a 2021 episode of her podcast.
‘It was dope … I got to bring all my friends. We’d go to the games. Like, it was a cool lifestyle,’ Cooper said at the time.
‘This man was the epitome of making f***ing money, driving his f***ing Aston Martin. I’m in his penthouse after my f***ing last class the day before I go to practice.’
Despite the perks, Cooper said there were plenty of drawbacks, including the fact she was never the only woman in the picture.
‘I was walked all over. I was treated like s***,’ she said. ‘He opened truly my eyes to some of the most psychotic, intense games that were possible to be played.’
Cooper moved on with another baseball player, former Mets and Angeles star Noah Syndergaard, before tying the knot with movie producer Matt Kaplan earlier this year.
