The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) provided Britons with fresh information about the national general strike coming up.
Holidaymakers were told: “A national general strike is planned on November 29. Details of the strike are listed in Italian on the Ministry of Transport website.

“If you are due to travel in Italy on this date, check with your travel provider how your journey may be impacted.”
Italian unions CGIL and UIL are set to strike for eight hours to demand improvements to the government budget plan for 2025.
It has been reported that around 50,000 workers from most private and public sectors will participate, except for railway transport and medical personnel.
Before booking a trip to Italy, Britons should always consult the FCDO’s latest guidance.
This will include all the necessary information on warnings and insurance, entry requirements, safety and security, health and getting help.
Holidaymakers were recently issued an FCDO warning as Britons were told to be prepared for major changes in Rome starting next month.
Britons were told: “The Jubilee, known as the Holy Year, will take place in Rome from December 24, 2024 to January 6, 2026.
“The city is expected to be very busy, particularly when the bigger events take place.”
