Andy Burnham has become the first Prime Minister to join Celebrity Gogglebox for a charity special on Channel 4.
On Friday, the Makerfield MP will appear in No10 Downing Street on Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer and will be sat next to the Mayor of Liverpool, Steve Rotheram.
The pair will appear on the nation’s televisions to chat through some of Britain’s TV as Mr Burnham continues his drive to reach out to “normal” people.
The Prime Minister will be joined by the likes of comedian Joe Lycett and the Sugababes, with more names expected to be announced ahead of the episode special.
It will air at 9.05pm tomorrow night.
A short teaser trailer of the Labour leader and Liverpool Mayor was shared on social media, with Mr Burnham asking his “friend Steve” what snack he would like.
“I’ve got Skips, pork scratchings, Twiglets… Twiglets are probably best, aren’t they?” the “King of the North” could be heard saying.
But, with two weeks to go until his maiden Budget, Mr Burnham come under fire for not being a “serious” Prime Minister.
Louie French, the Shadow Culture Minister, told GB News: “Britain’s debt is growing, our economy is stagnating, and the world is becoming more dangerous.
“But don’t worry we know what Andy Burnham’s favourite crisps are and can watch him on GoggleBox. He is not a serious PM.”
