Aldi shoppers will soon have a brilliant new way to clear out their wardrobes while helping those in need.
The supermarket is launching its first-ever clothing donation scheme on September 22, teaming up with InPost and The Salvation Army.
The scheme will allow customers to drop off pre-loved clothes and textiles during their regular shopping trips.
It aims to tackle textile waste while supporting The Salvation Army’s vital work across the country.
More than 500 Aldi stores nationwide will offer this service through InPost Lockers, making it incredibly easy for people to donate items they no longer need.
To get involved, shoppers simply need to pack up their unwanted clothing and textiles and place them into an InPost Locker at their local Aldi.
They must use the returns portal on Aldi’s website to complete the donation, using the same process as returning an online purchase.
The supermarket promises no fuss, no complicated forms – just a quick drop-off while doing the weekly shop.

The donated items will go directly to The Salvation Army, which will either sell them in its shops or find new ways to repurpose them, helping to raise funds for the charity.
The Salvation Army works across the country with the most vulnerable in the community, including those experiencing homelessness, the elderly, and victims of modern slavery.
Aldi’s announcement comes as the supermarket announces a two-year partnership with The Salvation Army to support the church’s work in the community.
Shoppers can also donate food to local charities, food banks, and community groups via the donation points in Aldi stores nationwide.

In other supermarket news, Tesco will now provide a free service to help new parents.
The retailer has teamed up with Pampers to create nappies specifically designed for premature babies, available in more than 350 locations.
