An illegal migrant sexually assaulted two women while he delivered takeaways to their homes.
Shafiullah Rasooli was illegally using his friend’s registration details to deliver food to customers in and around Maidstone in Kent at the time.
According to court proceedings, the 29-year-old touched the breasts of two customers and ran his hands of their upper bodies on July 3 and July 26 this year.
The Afghan migrant was later identified and charged with three counts of sexual assault, against two victims.
However, Rasooli denied the allegations, claiming “hugging to the side” was a common way of saying goodbye in his home nation.
He was found guilty of all charges on October 1 at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court.
Terry Knox, prosecuting, told the court: “He’s an immigration overstayer and now his application to stay [longer] has been formally rejected.
“He came to [one victim’s] address and she recognised him from [delivering food] two weeks earlier.

“He then steps over the threshold of the door, so the assault happened in her own home.”
He added: “He then asked her her name and age and told her she looks young for her age, and then he gestures to the sofa and said to her, ‘no boyfriend or friends [at home]’.
“She lies and indicates to him yes… and she was scared and unsettled as he gives her the bags [for delivery] and at that point he runs his hands down her body, down her breasts and [upper] body and was smiling as he did so.”
The court heard that the other victim said the second sexual assault unfolded in a similar manner.

The second woman became paranoid after the assault and installed CCTV and security lights at her residence, the court heard.
She also was unable to keep her job as she could not sleep due to fears he would return.
The woman said: “[My house] used to be my safe place, but he knows where my home is and what my phone number is.”
Mr Knox told the court that Rasooli was remanded in custody in August due to his immigration status.
However, he added that at that point he was unsure whether Rasooli would be detained by immigration authorities if he was released.
The prosecutor added: “He’s been on remand as he had no resident to go to.”
The court ordered for Rasooli to be kept in custody until a pre-sentencing report was completed.
However, upon his appearance at Margate Magistrates’ Court on October 21, it weas revealed this would not be until December 3 at the earliest.
Magistrates then said they wanted to send the case to Canterbury Crown Court for sentencing and Rasooli was remanded in custody until then.
A date for that hearing is yet to be fixed.
