About 100 firefighters are tackling a large fire at a takeaway in north London.
Half of the ground floor of the building on Seven Sisters Road in Holloway is alight, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said on Thursday.
Part of two flats on the first and second floors remain alight, LFB added, but the cause of the fire is unknown.
Speaking at the scene, Station Commander Mike Watts said road closures were in place and urged people to avoid the area due to smoke and traffic congestion.
“The fire is producing a lot of smoke in the vicinity and local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed while we work to bring the fire under control,” he added.
The brigade said it received 19 calls about the blaze, with the first one coming in at 03:45 GMT, adding 15 fire engines were on the scene at the blaze including crews from Kentish Town, Islington, and Euston.
Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters attended a separate fire in West Hampstead in north London, also on Thursday, which was brought under control by 05:23 GMT.
